Ogden, Utah, December 2009 Painters, All too soon, this year is nearly over. I hope all of you have enjoyed it as much as I have. We have certainly had a fun variety – from tassels, to sculpting with clay, to gourds. With all the varied projects, you ladies have shown a lot of ingenuity and creativeness. Much thanks to all the Board members, to our chairladies(Lydia, Nancy, Tirzah and Rosina), to our teachers (Carol Wilson, Lisa Peck, Hazel Rimmash, Tirzah Probasco, Julie McFadden, JoLynn Johnson, Eileen Bernard, and Nancy Coley), to the Appreciation Tea hostess (Mickey Hutchinson), and to all the members who have participated in any of the activities. This may sound trite, but the Chapter is only as good as y’all make it. I realize the economy has affected us all, but I hope everyone will renew your memberships for 2010. Remember the Chapter is for your benefit to help you to continue honing your talents and to have some fun doing it. And, don’t forget your National dues. In our behalf, Mickey has applied for a folk arts grant from the State of Utah. If we are fortunate to receive this, our seminar fees may be reduced in 2010 without reducing the quality or quantity of the seminars. We will be electing next year’s Board members by mail this week. Glenda will be sending out the ballots today (27 Nov.) with an enclosed return envelope. Please mark your ballots and return as soon as possible. Per the criteria stated in our By-Laws, you may do ‘write-in’ votes. Also per our By-Laws, we must have votes from a majority of ALL of our members; so please do return your ballot. (Note: Don’t forget to put a stamp on the envelope.) This month we will be having our annual Christmas party with a delicious menu, fun games, gifts and prizes. We will also announce next year’s Board members at this time. Remember to bring a “White Elephant” gift (something you already own and don't need that's still in the box or in mint condition). I again ask if you are willing to teach a paint-in next year, please bring a sample of something you would teach to the Christmas Party. If you cannot come to the party, let a board member know of your willingness and get us a sample. Don’t forget to sign up for January’s silk scarf project with Glenda, a tin project with LaRae in February and/or our spring seminar with Mary Jane Todd. If you cannot attend our Christmas Party, please send your check for the paint-in to our treasurer as soon as possible. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Rebecca |

Rebecca called the meeting to order at 10:00 am and welcomed everyone to the November
Paint-in and introuced our guest, Sheryl Pulver (Terry's sister-in-law).
The sign up sheet for the Christmas party is on the front table. Cost is $14 for a prime
rib dinner catered by Lydia's daughter LeeAnn. We will voting for 2010 officers at the
Christmas Party or using the December Newsletter instructions. Members are also urged
to bring projects they would like to teach next year so that we can vote one those as
well.
The sign up sheet for Glenda's January silk scarf class is on the front table along with
the prep instructions, pattern and scarf. There are two patterns included; one for the Pansy
and the other for the Sunflower. Placement on the scarf is your choice. Glenda reminded
everyone that a NEW brushs are needed for this project, along with an embroidery hoop
or plastic-covered stiff surface. The scarf MUST be washed and ironed wrinkle-free.
Rebecca also urged us to get to the paint-in's before 10:00 so that there is plenty of time for
setup and business before, not during, class.
Time was then turned over to Nancy.
